Why is my hairline receding so quick?

As someone with no family member having this much hair loss, this quick, this young, I'm starting to think maybe my hair loss isn't genetic. Is there any other factors which speed up male pattern baldness? Stress? High sugar/low protein diet? I always read that 90% of hairloss is genetic, but what exactly is the other 10%?

Everyone will say it's purely genetic and those don't contribute, but we know the answer. I'm like you, I don't have a big history of balding in my family. I have one uncle that's bald and my dad is bald and that's it for 2 generation of men. Based on how I went bald and my friend didn't even though his moms side is full bald at 20, tells me that yes, strees is indeed a factor. Laziness, poor sleep, high fat diets, stress and negative emotions all contribute (impo)

hair loss is about 99.9 % genetic, maybe you got the gene from your great great grandfather. Lots of men think just cos their fathers and grandfathers didn't lose their hair young that it wont happen to them. But you could have got the gene from anywhere along your lineage.

Where do people get the whole 99.9% genetic thing? Do you have any studies which claim it's >90% genetic?

It's purely genetic, stress will speed things up.

...and what about people who have a bad diet and have high insulin resistance? Some studies have showed a connection between insulin resistance and hair loss.

You really are a fool if you honestly believe your lifestyle decisions contribute to your balding.
I tell you what, start running and eat healthier and maybe you'll convince yourself, just make to post pictures with poor lighting and horrible angles so you believe you have regrowth or lets even be more dumb and say you''ve slowed down your hair loss :gay2:

Its not true no one knows. Men that are castrated before puberty dont go bald. Regardless of smoking, sleep, high fat diet but hey believe what you want. Maybe its fapping too much or wearing hats too tight.

I think its like 95 percent genetics and your environment/lifestyle have almost no effect whatsoever yet there are some studies that compared twins and tried to say lots of things such as smoking did play a role in hair loss. I just disagree. I think we just dont know enough to really say how much is genetic verses environment and anyone that does is just guessing. My guess is lifestyle like say smoking plays nearly no role at all either way and in the study they were simply finding coincidences and not cause/effect which seems to happen a lot in studies with lots of variables.

i would bet that carbs have more to do with balding than fat

not that either is proven scientifically tho
