Why don't antiandro like spironolactone or tagamet work topically

I mean when taken orally they work so good (spironolactone)but when taken topically they just go limp or something....Is it the vehicle or something like bio-chemical thingy happens when ingested orally.......Or something(Aint that sciency term knowing guy)

My thinking is that some of it is the fact that the empidermis is hard to penetrate with a topical to get the active ingredient all the way down to the hair follicle. Probably more importantly is that hair follicles get their nutrients from the BLOOD, which enters the follicle at its BASE. Dropping in stuff from above is just very, very inefficient.

true but you cant deny that they have a large possibility of still working, just look at minoxidil. I don't think anyone argues that it doesn't work.

I believe that topical can be effective, just not as efffective as orals.

So you say the cure is gonna be something if there would be one is in a pill form???
Btw how about we use topicals like retin-a or azelaic acid for penetration and then any topical like crushed spironolactone with a soother like aloevera gel

I honestly dont know the answer to that question. All I know is that many drugs can enter the system through the skin so by this theory topical should work.

Its because drugs like finasteride don't have an affect on DHT already present in the body. They work by preventing further conversion of Test into DHT. We need a drug that has a direct impact on DHT, then we are talking potential topical use.
