Why Do Some Surgeries Look Great And Others Look Mediocre?

I understand about hair characteristics (you want thick, preferably wavy hair) with donor quality (lots of 3s and 4 hair grafts) but I ocasionally see surgeries on people who have ideal hair traits and donor quality and the results are mediocre


this gentleman has very thick hair and had tons and tons of 3s and 4s and yet still has no density at all

but then this guy gets the same amount of grafts done and has similar hair (thick, wavy) and has a very extreme transformation

and it's even done by the same surgeon, making it more strange?

Because some are put on Finasteride immediately before/after the transplant under the advice of the Doctor to prevent further hairloss, knowing full well it's going to make the transplant result look amazing if the Finasteride works.

It's pretty obvious sometimes when the persons hair changes massively like the 2nd photos you showed below. That's clearly Finasteride working, there's no miniaturization throughout the scalp.

he lost a lot of hair but the hair that is currently there is very thick. Same thing as me - the hair on the top of my head that is still there is extremely thick, but I have lost a lot in certain patches
