i would like to hear comments about that. I my first days of HairLossTalk.com a user wrote that he was using nizoral everyday and was seeing regrowth of hair after one week. Unfortunately the feedback stopped.

i just think its a lil odd that we think just cuz of a study a long time ago that used nizoral twice on the scalp a week that we still follow it. maybe topical ketoconzole like in nizoral cream left on over night every day could produce hair regrowth twice as good as rogain 5 percent seeing how nizoral 2 times a week only left on scalp for 5 min gave results similar to rogain 2 percent, dunno this study certainly got me thinking after seeing the amazing photots.

So Nizoral is a DHT blocker and a growth stimulent? I'm confused on the effect of the active ingredient.

i really have no idea wut it is but seeing how these men used it everday and got that much hair one would have to think its defiantly both a growth stimulent plus a dht blocker.

i dont hear many stories if any at all of people useing it as a cream and left on at night. if my hairloss ever got to the point where i did not like it, i would certainly give it a go with a short buzed cut, i mean what do you go to lose.

after doin more research i found a place that sells nizoral cream http://www.inhousepharmacy.com/skin-car ... cream.html does any1 know what would be the difference of using a cream or shampoo like whats different in the active ingredients.

i think for those that seem to not be able to slow down their hairloss even on the big 3 and want to try something unique would be to take shower at night use nizoral every night lather it up good on ur male pattern baldness area and let it stay on all night then wash off in morning with a good moisturizer, obviously would have to have hair prety short. i also found some foam wich can be left in the hair wich would probably be better if skin gets dry. http://www.altacare.com/prodcuts_mi.asp ... ProdType=1

id certainly see that as being more easier then applying rogaine twice a day.

Summarizing:

6 guys used it. 4 had almost no results. 1 had profound results, as seen. The other was said to have good results, but not shown.

Keto at 10-20 micro grams/mL in cells reduces androgen receptors activity 32.5-50.1% respectively. 5 micrograms/mL has no affect, and 1 microgram/mL either upregulated it or is a fluke.

they applied the 2% keto in ethanol right after shampooing with cheap shampoo. Each guy used a different shampoo, their own, not listed. Maybe it had an effect.

Since keto grows hair on mice, it seems it works by other methods as well. It also increase hair growth of men on finasteride.

They did not test nizoral shampoo or do hair counts. Just 1-2 very profound results, and 4 non-responders.

the growth changed in 3 months, too.

What is the cheapest salicylic acid pre-wash out there? And anti-acne one?

actually 3 of them men gots results the 3rd had sum crown improvment the other 3 men didnt show increase but doesnt say they showed decrease wich is also a key in male pattern baldness. also the 3 guys that didnt get great results are of older age while the 2 younger ones that responded real well were young, wich shows again starting treatments early is critical.

Two of the men, one 23 years old with grade II vertex and the other 25 years old with Va Androgenetic Alopecia, showed remarkable hair regrowth after 6 and 10 months, respectively (Fig. 1). The 23-year-old male stopped using KCZ and 3 months later hair loss recurrence on the vertex was noted (Fig. 1c). When he started using KCZ again during shampooing, hairs on the vertex grew again after 3 months (Fig. 1d). These findings constitute evidence of the clinical efficacy of KCZ for Androgenetic Alopecia. A 41-year-old male showed a slight increase in vertex hair growth after 1 year. Other three of the men, 31, 38 and 51 years old did not show significant improvement.

The 31 year old had no regrowth. OK, they did not count hairs though, right? So just visuals. So who knows if they thinned a little in a year. Strange that the 41 year old did better than the 31 year old, but maybe age was a factor. I think genetics is more important than age, which means how long you have been balding, or how bad it is. Let's look at their Norwood again. Any trends?

and I'll point out again that in the study that compared 2% and 1% nizoral shampoo, both had the same results.
