Hey guys I've read a lot of helpful stories and posts on this forum. I need some expierienced advice from you guys.

About myself:
I'm 20 years old. I started noticing hairfall when I was 19 only around my crown. I went to a local doctor who examined my hair for a minute and prescribed minoxidil 5% solution. I wasn't very pleased by this and hence didn't apply it rigourously and stopped it after 2 months. I didn't know much about hairfall back then and wasn't aware of the implication with minoxidil... After this I didn't pay much attention to my hairfall..

This january(20) I got in good shape and lost a lot of weight(14 kgs, cycling/excersising and healthy diet). Later I noticed some symptoms of increased thyroid activity and was diagnosed for it. I linked my hair fall to it. After two months my thyroid levels stabilized and my thyroid Doctor asked me to relax and test it once in three months. My hairfall had increased(20-25 thin hair on my hands during bath) and my top of the scalp became quite visible under sunlight. I was quite scared and wanted to get some serious diagnosis.

I went to a famous trichology center, gave them some hair samples and got it diagnosed. They said it was due to male pattern baldness(two of my uncles are facing hairfall only around their crown, mid 40's) and said my hair was not healthy(it came as quite a surprise since I recently improved my diet) and dry(always was) and I was a diffuse thinner(my hairline has not receded). By then I had done my research and asked them about finasteride and rogaine, they were very much against finasteride(because of the side effects) and rogaine(because of its dependancy, side effects and very little thin hair)

They told me it would be futile to think about regrowth, instead try to maintain what I've got. They asked me to improve my diet, laser comb(photo bio therapy) once in two weeks and gave a kit: serenoa complex tablets, saw palmetto tablets, hair oil and shampoo(containing saw palmetto). Every product is from their company. They are dead set against Big 3.

I haven't noticed any increased hairfall but it isn't improving my situation. After reading a lot of stories here I am thinking about going on the big 3 route.
Is it useful for a diffuse thinner? They told me my anagen to talogen ratio is 10:0(normal is 8:2) hence I don't have a bald spot but lots of miniature hair(I saw it with their scanner on the screen) and my hair are undergoing constant shedding despite new miniature hair growth...

They haven't done any blood test or DHT test. When I asked them about my DHT they said "its normal, its because of male pattern baldness" without even testing it.. Are they just trying to sell me their products? Should I go to another trichologist or dermatologist? Will Rogaine and Finasteride help in my case?

I need some suggestions from you guys. I'll soon attach some photos.

P.S: Sorry for the length of the post.

I would at least try and keep up either minoxidil or finasteride! i am on minoxidil myself for 2.5 months and i have seen good results so far! dont be scared by the fact that you have to apply it each day. Consider it like brushing your teeth.

Thanks for the reply mate. Will minoxidil help the miniature hair grow thicker in volume?

Is there a test to check your DHT levels? If yes then would that be a good option to get it tested before taking finasteride?
