White crystallized stuff forming on scalp from topicals!!

Hey guys,

I use minoxidil, Prox-N , nizoral/Tgel and spironolactone everyday. I have been noticing that when my hair gets dry, these white, hard crystal like flakes (resemble salt particles) form all over my scalp. They tend to dry up my scalp and lead to to a lot of itching, flaking and shedding. What the heck are these - is this dired up minoxidil or PPG? I don't think it's dandruff since I am using T-Gel and nizoral regularly. Help! I think this stuff is nasty and bad for hairloss!

they might be minoxidil flakes. Also, are you using nizoral everyday? you should use it 3 times a week tops that stuff can dry out you're scalp pretty bad if used too often. If you are having problems with your scalp being too try dry emu oil or tricomin should help.

Thanks Dave! By the way do you go to CMU (college) ;-) I am already using tricomin and emu oil and they do help a bit. I use nizoral 2 percent about 3 times a week and t-gel or PTO shampoo 2 -3 times a week.
