Which Type Of Alopecia Do You Think My Smyptoms Indicate?

Hi, my hair loss started around 2 to 3 years ago.

- Initially I thought that the hair loss is androgenic alopecia. But I'm losing hair a lot faster than typical Androgenetic Alopecia. I lose somewhere between 70 to 100 hairs a day on average (including wash days). Sometimes during stressful days, it can be even more.

- My hair line has receded a lot and my father also has androgenic alopecia. So, that was my first guess.
But now I notice that if I pull my hair, I lose more hair from the back of my head and less from the hairline. No bald spots are visible anywhere other than my receded hairline.

- All this time I was ignoring the fact that I'm also losing pubic hair.

- Few months ago, I noticed that if I rub my hands/legs or eye brows with wet fingers, I get 1 or 2 hair in my fingers.

- From what I've read on the various forums, Androgenetic Alopecia do not lose hair as fast as I do.

- Another thing to note is that if I shave my head completely and let my hair regrow then I do not lose any hair till 1 month or so. I've literally tried to pull my hair when they are wet and observed very carefully but I have zero hair loss for the first one month of shaving the hair. But my hairline has receded too much to keep very short hair.

- I remember that 2 to 3 years ago when I started to have hair loss, I used to get pain in my scalp. Now I use emu oil for the scalp pain sometimes and the pain is gone if I use it regularly.

So, I'm totally confused on the type of hair loss I have. Is this some form of areata totalis coupled with genetic androgenic alopecia?

Which kind of hairloss do you think this is?

Check the attached pictures.
Please take into account that when I rub wet finger very hardly against my body hair, one hair comes out. I also notice a couple of eyebrows on the towel after rubbing my face (if i notice carefully).

It's simple Genetic hairloss in your case. Might be an aggressive One due to your description. Nur the Pictures don't look too bad yet. Finasteride and Minoxidil are your friend. Good luck with your battle

Do you have any thoughts on the loss in body hair/pubic hair?
It's just 1 or 2 body hair if I rub wet hands very hardly which might be normal but pubic hair loss was noticeable until I cleaned it.

Might be mostly due to the fact that you are more conscious about your hairloss in generall. As long as it's not thinning it is normal

Agreed, regular old bullshit that is Androgenetic Alopecia. Hair loss rate with Androgenetic Alopecia will vary from person to person and can even carry for the same person over time. It's truly bullshit. Start treatment. Hopefully they will help slow or reverse some loss.

Unfortunately as they said, you have male pattern baldness early stage.

Finasteride and Minoxidil it is the perfect combination to fight against male pattern baldness.
