Which side of the tape do you remove first?

There's one larger side usually and the other side that's cut in half and removes in 2 pieces. Which side goes against the lace, which against the scalp? Thank you!

Usually the side with the backing tape, which you peel off, attaches to the scalp.

What do you mean? It's on both sides. Only one sides overlaps and is in one piece, the other comes off in halves.
