Whey Protein

I am trying to reduce body fat and replace it with some muscle (don't want to lose much weight). I just bought advanced whey protein (by six star body fuel) and am wondering how effective people here find whey protein in terms of aiding muslce growth (and maybe boosting energy?). I am vegetarian and rarely work out, but I play soccer, tennis etc... so am not overweight (weigh around 175-180 lbs). Just don't like having 21-24 percent body weight all the time.

I use soy protein instead because it has more arginine and glutamine. I take 10g before and after my workouts, with orange juice. I think it is important to get fuel to the muscles fast after a workout, but I don't think you need a super advanced protein powder to do it. Orange juice is great, though a little protein powder with it is probably beneficial too. I try to go heavier on the carbs. I can't say how well it works since I varied other factors too, but I put on 3-4 pounds of muscle in a month.
