Phew!
Im a 23 year old from Western Australia and have realised my hairline has started to recede significantly from the front (its thinning less in the middle though). Its accompanied by the 'trademark' itch and I would say it is most certainly genetic as my mother's father was bald and my fathers dad is somewhat balding. My mother's hair is strong and my father's is beginning to recede and he is around 53 years old. I also have the ocassional scalp pimple which may mean inflammation. I use organic shampoos which contain as little synthetic sh*t as possible and dont put ANYTHING into my hair. No mousse or gel or any of that junk. When I was younger, I used to use it everyday and im sure that didnt help my situation.
Now ive read the FAQ aswell as many posts on differing regimens and im aware that results arent all 100% for everyone, but id rather do something about it while I can than sit idly by and wait for these faulty genes to do more damage to my hair.
My main questions are:
1) Is it wise to see a dermatologist to assess my situation and give me an educated recommendation on the kinds of drugs / applications and exact doses I should be taking?
As a side note, ive emailed a successful member of the HairLossTalk.com forums (Martin) who suggested I start a regimen of minoxidil, finasteride and nizoral, this leads onto my second question..
2) If not, then where do I obtain these procurements? How do I know what kinds of doses will work for me?
Thanks very much for your time and efforts everyone.
All the very best!
