Hello all,

About nine to ten months ago, I started Propecia. I am suffering from diffuse hair loss. I have lost more hair since beginning ten months ago. While it still isnt "noticable" to many, I have seen a significant decrease in my hair. Looking at my brother's hair gives me an idea of here it will be at in three years. He tried rogaine to no avail (tho i don't know how long or how consistently he used it).

I have some questions:

1.) Most readings tell me Propecia starts to work in the first six months. Others say a year. Should I give up on it or keep with it?

2.) What are other solid options? Propecia is the best, from what I hear. If continues to not work, should I just throw in the towel and call it quits?

It sucks being 29, wanting an acting career, and going through this sh*t. Feh. Any input and/or advice is appreciated.

stick with propecia at least the full year if you don't have any sides. Consider throwing in minoxidil. The combination of the two is supposedly the most potent treatment.
good luck

I am not sure about minoxidil...my brother tried it to no avail (we have the same thinning pattern)....i am already tired of spending as much time and money as i do on this issue, but i really dont want to thin more so i will consider it.

Has propecia worked for any of You other diffuse thinners out there?

The difference between you and your brother is that you are already attacking the underlying reason for male pattern baldness (with finasteride)thereby giving minoxidil way better conditions to work it's magic.
I, as you, don't have much faith in minoxidil on it's own, but I do believe that it would be very effective in conjunction with propecia...
but it's your call of course...
