Where does this treatment-user photo come from?

I found this treatment 'success story' pic that I saved to my computer earlier in the year, but I have no idea where it comes from. Any ideas? Might be one of the threads here, but I can't locate it.

The reason I ask is because I'm semi-certain that this person used minoxidil, and I'm almost at the stage of using minoxidil as my hair is basically identical to this guy's 'before' after 18 months on 1mg finasteride daily, just with a pathetic grow-over rather than a clipper cut, so I'm reluctantly hoping that minoxidil might just be what I need.

You can try minoxidil but don't expect results like this guy. It might happen but improvements this drastic are quite rare. Most improvements are subtle. Try it for 6 months.

But good luck. Keep up the finasteride.

I guessed it'd be a rare occurrence, but as I look like the shot on the left, I really need regrowth, and minoxidil is the cheapest/easily available agent for that unfortunately. (I'd go on dutasteride too if it was easy to get on the UK properly.)

How long would I need to use minoxidil for to see any early response?

Thanks and I'll keep taking the finasteride but I struggle to be motivated with my hair already looking so thin and unsalvageable.

Trust me keep on the finasteride, your hair will only get worse if you stop taking it. I'm talking from experience. It's no hassle to pop a pill nor is it very expensive.

Even if you decide to buzz/shave your head it looks better to have some hair there than none.

Look at Guardiola, Zidane and Di Matteo they have little hair but it still frames their face.

Stopping finasteride might make you completely bald.

If you're going to have spectacular result from minoxidil it will be apparent in 3-4 months.

You could also try a concealer like Nanogen which works well in diffuse hair loss. However do not become addicted to it. You can wear it to nightclubs and on cloudy days but in sunlight and bright lights it will look dusty and dull.

I thought it looked great until I sat under the bright lights at my barber shop.

I don't want to shave my head and look like a BNP thug or football hooligan though, I'd be physically revulsed even looking at myself. Just want some regrowth so I can have hair, not a skinhead. It currently looks like the the before shot on that image. Finateride has done nothing for me.

The before shot is not that bad, what you should do is trim the sides so that there isn't a big contrast with the top.

Lol @ the football hooligan and BNP member. I come from an Indian background so I doubt that anyone will accuse me of being a hooligan! I had been buzzing my hair short, usually to 2 on the back and sides and 4 on top. When I went down to a 1 it was a big shock but I got used to it.

Do Ljungberg, Senderos Zidane look like hooligans? They are all light skinned.

A good buzzcut should suit you for the time being and allow you to apply the minoxidil easier.

Go for a 3 on the back and sides and a 5 on top.
