Where do I place on the Norwood Scale?

Hey everyone, new to this entire male pattern baldness subject. Looking for some direction.

I've had a wonky hairline since I was a teen, it runs in the family. And all immediate family, besides my father (NW3/4 since his late 20s) have full head of hair.
My hair has remained this way since I was about 18 (now 23), but I now noticed thinning in the front where it's becoming more difficult to style, so I now buzz it at a number 2. Minoxidil has done nothing from months of use. Still tossing the idea of finasteride, kinda nervous.

If this hairline holds till my late twenties, would a hair transplant be advisable? I assume it's a dumb decision to not be on finasteride prior? I was kinda hoping to stick it out and see if it holds for the next couple years, without taking finasteride.

With the flash enabled. I'm not really sure if i'm thinning that bad, or its just my hair is so short (for my life it's been at least 1+ inch, now it's a few cm).

tl;dr: should you always start finasteride before a hair transplant?

Thanks!

Save yourself and talk to your Doctor about getting finasteride asap bro. Any more loss and you will be considered balding to the general public
