Just received my 1st hairpiece and it's obviously not ready to be installed and where I ordered didn't had someone to pre-cut and style de system before shipping it.

I have asked a local hair systems specialized salon if they could help me on this however it looks very expensive ($150 to $250 CAD).

I leave in Montreal Canada and was wondering if someone knew an easier way or more reasonable salon to pre-cut the system?
Should I consider having shipped somewhere so it can be cut and returned back?

Thanks!

Congratulations, you are in for a major change. As a hair replacement specialist it is my belief that for the best result the piece should be cut on your head by someone that has a lot of experience with hair systems. However, I know this is easier said than done. There are very few hair stylists that are experienced with added hair.
I have done cut-ins for existing clients and mailed them, however having someone that has never met you cut the system is very risky. The first cut requires me to ask questions as we go along, it is a combined effort. Hair styles are very subjective, I might love something you hate. My job as a professional is to create the look YOU want, not what I think you should wear. This takes communication. You can't get that if you just mail your system to someone.
I agree with you that the prices many places charge to do cut-ins on systems bought elsewhere is ridiculous, our distributors really push us to charge a lot. My personal feeling is that by charging my normal hourly rate I get to see different brands of hair systems and what they offer. By doing this I know what I must look for in quality from a new vendor. I went through 5 companies before I found skin systems that had the quality I was looking for.
Bottom line though is that I believe you should bite the bullet if necessary and pay to have a good professional cut it in. Just consider the cut as part of your entire budget for your hair. No sense in buying a great system then being cheap and having it ruined with a bad cut.
Good luck.
