When you lost your hair

For those who consider themselves to have lost a significant amount of hair...

how did you know that you were losing it? Was it in the mirror or was it through seeing it fall out in the shower/on your desk/in your hands?

What I'm getting at is did it dramatically fall out or did it happen very slowly by miniaturising over a long period of time?

It happens very slowly in most cases. For me, I noticed my temple hairs were losing their color at first, but I didnt pay that much attention to it. Fast forward 6 months and they appeared to be a little thinner, fast forward 1,5 year and they were now really thin and did not blend in with the rest of my "healthy" hair, and thats when I started treatments. Finasteride and Rogaine brought my old hairline, though not as thick as it used to be, back and has kept it like that for about 2 years.

Thanks, for the reply.

I just wonder when I see everyone talking about seeing all this hair in the shower/plughole. I've had short periods where I see more hair come out than usual but some people seem to report quite dramatic loss.

It's very rare to lose hair that way, when you can just run your hand through it and it comes out. The most common way is to lose it slow, month by month, year by year, and thats why its better to jump on meds as soon as it starts!

look for minituarization, hairs losing their color and thickness for every cycle!

I have been losing my hairy slowly. It really sucks when someone else points it out before you even realize it. I tried to act like I knew and it wasn't a big deal but now I thinik about it everyday.
