When to add minoxidil.

I've been on finasteride for about 8 months now. It's had a few sheds from which I don't think I've recovered. I'm getting worried that the frontal part of the hair right behind the hairline may not come back without the aid of minoxidil.

Before I started finasteride I had a pretty strong forelock and now it's very very weak and thin. I had a hair transplant on the temples back in March so they should be in good shape. But it's that middle island till about mid-scalp that is looking bad lately.

So my question is...should I ride it out for another two months and see if the shed hairs come back or do I add minoxidil to the regimen right away?

Has anyone else had a bad first 8 months with finasteride and then at 9+ months they see an improvement? I'm thinking I should ride it out but I desperately want some thoughts.
Thanks Fellas.

I was on finasteride by itself for 7 months, got okay response in the crown but not in the front. Added minoxidil at that point, and started to get some results in the front. Not before a massive shed though! So I think that if you feel like you need it, you probably do. Just know that a shed is very possible before making gains. Overall, I feel like minoxidil + finasteride works much much better than finasteride by itself. Even the normal hair feels healthier and thicker.
