Ive recently had a fue hair transplant with dr cole, i had my entire head shaved, it makes it easier for placing grafts etc.
I could of just got the donor area shaved and left the top long, but this will definetly make it harder work to do the hair transplant.

dr's like hasson & wong etc shave the recipient area for the same reason.

Most Dr will insist on it as it makes their job a lot easier and (they say) gives a better result because they can see exactly where best to put the grafts.

I had quite a bit of hair when I had my transplant ...

The hair was kept wet all the time it seemed so it was easy to see where grafts were needed

I have had it done both ways, shaved and not shaved.

The donor area is shaved because it helps to see the direction of the FUs in the extraction process, and the punch can be inserted with better accuracy.

In the recipient area, the issue is transecting existing and neighboring hair when the recipient incisions are being done. So proper angulation of the insicions is critical so as not to damage the neighboring hair.

Again, when the exisiting hair is shaved, the short stubbles display the direction of it.
