Hey all, I'm new to this kind of community but I'm not new to hair loss at all. I'm 21, and I started losing my hair when I was 15. When I was 19, I started taking Finasteride. I didn't notice much come back, but I've stopped shedding as my hairline hasn't really changed at all over the years. I was also really bad about taking it, where in two years I've been prescribed I've frequently skipped days -- even weeks -- but I'm not sure if that has much of an effect on finasteride.
ANYWAY, I'm probably nw3 or somewhere in between nw2 & 3, though I just learned what the Nordwood scale even is like 30 minutes ago, so don't count on my judgement lmao. I've had longer hair for years and that's the main thing that's made this so difficult. I want to try rogaine on my temples, but I have a question: when is it too late?
I was reading that once a hair follicle has closed up for so long, it can never be "resurrected." And since my hairline has been receded for a few years now, am I unlikely to see results?
I'm also considering a transplant if nothing else works, but I've also read that early 20's is reaaaally young to have that done.
Eh, here are some pictures. As of now I can cover it up pretty okay (the last image is no brushing for a few hours, the one before it is frequent brushing). But it's exhausting to mess with it all the time since a simple door closing will move it out of place -- and hair spray takes the fun out of long hair! Even though I still end up using it
