When I run my hands through my hair...

I can feel little 'stubble' on my scalp. I have been on minoxidil for about 3 months now but had this stubble before I started.

What can I expect to happen from here? Will the minoxidil spark these to life?

It's not stubble... You're feeling the bottom of the hair, tends to feel like stubble. Any hairs that grow will start out really fine and grow accordingly. Not instantly thick.
