When does Nizoral do ANYTHING?

I've been using 2% Nizoral for roughly three weeks now because my scalp was really oily, I've had some flaking and itch, and I heard it helps hair growth. I've been taking it three times weekly, though, and have noticed that it hasn't done a very good job at addressing any of these issues.

Just now I had some itching and when I scratched the top of my scalp, about 10-20 hairs came out and quite a bit of dandruff.

Yeah, you need several months of a particular treatment to evaluate anything because of how hairs grow (in cycles). I'm talking 6ish months to a year.

I recommend waiting it out a few months.

My dad turned me on to Nizoral, b/c he said it's really good for your hair; plus I had some flakes. I gave it a shot and it took months before I saw any beneficial results. At least 4 months.

Nizoral also may have caused a shed, because I noticed my hair looking thinner and really crappy during the first couple of months. At the time I thought the nizoral must be too harsh for me so I almost stopped using it.

While it helped with my dandruff; it made my hair really dry.(my hairstylist pointing this out to me) On her advice, I began using a tea tree shampoo which seemed to make my hair look and feel much better. I was ready to drop the nizoral but am really glad I stuck with it.

My hair has really improved; it's gotten thicker and my hairloss has even stopped. I now leave it in for 5 minutes between shampooing and conditioning. Also, I wouldn't advise leaving conditioner in like most bottles say. I stopped doing that, too, and my hair looks much fuller.

I don't know why everyone is hating on Nizoral, it was major lifesaver for me along with T-Gel to help with my dandruff back in high school.

Damn, can't wait until my Fincar comes in the mail...I'm not going on Rogaine though. Just want to see how the Fincar and Nizoral work together...just the thought of being able to go outside without wearing a hat is making me giddy. If I can fix my hair loss by December, I'll be 22 ready to go into the new world with my new degree and a new job...damn maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.
