When does Minoxidil growth peak?

I'm 4 months into the big 3, I think I've got some regrowth as people have commented that my hair looks darker and that they can't see my scalp as much as before.

I was wondering after how long does Minoxidil growth peak and stop growing more hair? I've read in some places that after 16 weeks you won't see any more regrowth?

I really hope to grow more hair and am encouraged with what I've seen so far but is the maximum I will regrow?

Really depends. I'm 4 1/2 months into minoxidil and nizoral, and around the 2 month mark I achieved the best results. My hair got darker and thicker. A few weeks after that however, the results subsided a little. I lost color and density. Then it thickened up a bit again, though not as much as it was at the 2 month mark, before it now again has lost a bit of color and strength. Note that I'm not using a DHT blocker though (yet).

I think, depending on the person, the growth peak is anywhere from 4-12 months if you're using a DHT blocker (which you are). Plus, you know, the best results from finasteride are obtained after 1-2 years.

You'll probably/hopefully keep improving.

I read a study that concluded that peak hair count was reached after about 1 year. This haircount remained stable for three years, and after 5 years, there was a slight reduction (though not much) compared to the 3 year mark.

I read the same. Note too that about 65% of improvement was achieved at the 4th month mark.

4 plus years on bothfinasteride and minoxidil and hair is still slowly coming back in the same (reverse) pattern that I lost it. I'm 41 and hair is now like it was in my mid/late 20's---still not great, but much healthier, thicker, and there's alot more of it. I am amazed and ectstatic to say the least as this is quite unexpected.

Finasteride + minoxidil is a real killer combo, especially if you respond well to both. If you take the androgens out of the equation with finasteride; the the growth made by minoxidil probably lasts much longer (and works much better) than without finasteride.

I think I saw a post in success stories about a guy using propecia and minoxidil since 1999, and now, 11 years later, still has a full head of hair. No loss at all.
