I'm in my early 40s. If you feel finasteride has not improved your situation after 3 years at less frequency than FDA guideline, should you consider Dutasteride, OR before considering Dutasteride, should you consider follwoing FDA guideline to take finasteride every day instead of taking finasteride every other day or three days a week?
After three years on finasteride, it's really hard to say if it has done anything, but I didn't take them every day to reduce the risk of side effect such as gynacomastia. It's also hard to say if my hairs are getting worse. I think it's staying about the same as 3 years ago.
Now, if I were to switch to Dutasteride, isn't the risk of side effects greater than on finasteride? I tried adding Minoxidil, but shedding was massive, so I stopped, and Minoxidil shedding stopped about 10 days after stopping. I want to add that I did not experience shedding from finasteride (taken every other day or Mon Wed Fri during past three years). Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
