What's up with this? Red scalp.

Can't tell if am worrying about nothing. As you can see. I have very blonde hair. So first question is, why is my scalp so red. I've checked for like psoriasis and all of that other stuff, but it doesn't seem to be that. Apparently it's always been that colour, so I dunno whether my hair colour being so light is making the scalp more noticeable.

And on to the other part. I posted on here a while back worrying about my crown - everyone says it's normal and there's no hair loss at all. But I was using the hairdryer yesterday and it seemed my hair was a bit thinner at the part just in front of my crown. Figured it could have just been the hairdryer blowing the hair around, so I took a pic this morning after sleeping on it to see.

So does that look like thinning or is it just the way my hair grows... with the scalp being more noticeable cuz it's red?

Thanks.

OMG I HAVE THE EXACT SAME VERTEX!!

And it's killing me, because when I started finasteride, I started because of my frontal hairline and general thinning. And I regrew and thickened, but I now had this c/u section in my vertex, pluss this tiny hairless patch placed in the middle of the scalp.

Can't tell if I've always had it or if finasteride is losing effect...

Dont like to give bad news but that appears to be classic inflamation of hair follicles/scalp. Better do something quick. When it becomes this obvious the male pattern baldness is aggressive.

As stated above it looks like it's inflamed, also it looks like you have diffuse thinning. I have the red scalp and diffuse thinning too, and yes it is aggressive.

Hmm, what's strange is, I was just looking at some pics from when I was younger, like 14/15, and there's a a few pics of the back of my head. And my whorl is the same as is my scalp colour. Unless I've just never noticed this before.

Argh. Annoys me this. Makes no sense.

My head got easily inflamed. I use nizoral, moisturizing shampoos, and I always wash my hair in cool water. It all helps great.

I notice that if I wash my hair in hot water it itches terribly.

Yo, thanks for the advice. I've started using T-Gel recently, but use very hot water to rinse my hair. I use a hairdryer as well, which could be causing the red scalp problem. Gonna get some mild conditioner today I think. Will see how this goes, but just in case I'll make an appoitment at the docs to see if they can see anything.

Cheers.
