I have diffuse thinning. I think I still have most of my hair on top of my head, but a lot of them are thin. When I'm not under light, it looks like I have full coverage.
I know this question has been raised many times, but is diffuse thinning genetic? Why would one person have diffuse thinning instead of normal Norwood recession (and yes, my hairline has receded, it's somewhere between a NW2 and NW3)?
I'm guessing diffuse thinning can make a person lose his hair very rapidly, in the span of a few years I guess. Does finasteride work for diffuse thinning? I'm hoping it will thicken up all those hairs that are miniaturizing so that there are no longer these weird lines going through my hair. The parts on the sides and center are also widening.
Grrr. Of course my hope is that finasteride will fix my hair, maintain it for ten years, then I get on whatever better treatment we (hopefully) have in 2024.
