I've getting more concerned that my hairless is not normal male pattern baldness. Please tell me if anyone else has experienced hair loss like this.
I've noticed how asymmetrical and random my hair loss is. Im not even sure how to describe it (I would post pictures, but I'm far too embarrassed of it). My left sideburn is thinning, but not my right. I noticed today that it looks like the sides of my head are thinning, but not so much the top of my head. there is a bit of a thin patch on the front right half of my hairline, but not really the left.* The texture has become finer and my hair more brittle. Over the past 3 months the right corner of my hairline has had a cycle of regrowing a bit, then thinking out, regrowing, then thinning out. Also where the front of my hairline has receded, all the hair seems to still be there, just miniaturized, almost like a second hairline. Its so strange. Also my scalp has a slight unpleasant odor.
Ive been trying to figure out what's going on. If I have some kind of fungal infection, or male pattern baldness, or both. I had a big blood test done, trying to find any info in that. So I'll update everyone when I get the results.
Some ideas of the cause:
-Crazy male pattern baldness (I don't know of anything like this happening in my family history)
-I did have a vitamin D deficiency, but have been taking supplements
-I was using retinol (which can cause hair loss), but stopped about a month and a half ago
-I used an organic shampoo, it gave me a bunch of buildup, and thats when my hair changed texture and the thinning started
-Before I found out I had a mild dairy allergy I was very sick, there was a period of about 5 years doctors were pumping me full of antibiotics, I have suspected this has given me a candida overgrowth problem. I took the home spit test and it was positive for candida. Can candida do this to hair?
