No way to answer your question. Everything works different for everyone.

You'll just have to try some stuff and see

Nothing really works on temples; finasteride and minoxidil can slow down or stop the process, but getting regrowth there is very hard, with current treatments at least. If you start treatments on time at the very first stages of recession, though, you may have a chance to halt the process. As kj6723 said, it all depends on how your respond to treatments.

Minoxidil does work for the temples.

That's the truth. A Board Certified Dermatologist (in the US, top doctor in their field), prescribed
it to me (back in the 1990s, yes, I'm old as dirt). This was before it was available.

It grew back everything on my hairline. And when I was twenty, I didn't have any vertex
baldness. Just a receding hairline.

She knew what she was doing. And I saw my hair grow back. Went from a Norwood 1.5 to a zero.

Ah yes, back when Minoxidil was prescription only.

I imagine you had a good bit of vellus hairs, though?

Yes, I definitely did. And they became terminal. It didn't take long. Just a few months.

I stopped using Rogaine between 22 - 24?? Somewhere around there. Big mistake.

To be honest, I think that both of us will be good responders to Histogen.

That drug will probably bump us down the Norwood ladder, hopefully for me make me
a Norwood 2/1.

If it's any consolation, Rogaine could have lost its effect on you later on, as it has for other people.

But yes, I hope so too, at the very least it will be better than anything else currently on the market. Maintaining is my main hope for now, with Histogen and others coming in the future, it certainly can't get worse and it's better than it was 30 years ago.

My No.1 priority is to stop receding hairline rather than regrowing that's why I posted this question. I can't afford to lose anymore hair from the front. What do you guys suggest ?

Hair transplant.

I am 23 bro and thinning crown just started. My hairline is receding like crazy. Not sure if I am a transplant candidate given that my hair will continue to fall. I just want to halt the process, specially my receding hairline.

What is the reason that you cannot take finasteride, if I might ask?

Not intending to sound like negative Nancy here, but if you cannot take anti-androgens, then I'm afraid conventional treatments aren't going to help.

Don't even think of trying without finasteride at your stage.

I suffer from regular panic attacks already. I am ready to try topical but unfortunately oral isn't an option for me.

It's just that I've never heard of finasteride causing panic attacks. o_O

If you search around there are quite a few people who have maintained on minoxidl and nizoral for years. One guy had done it for 10 years.

finasteride harmed my hairloss if anything over a year. Oddly enough it also thinned out my body hair. Since I stopped taking it the hairloss stopped and the body hair returned.

Being bald will give you more panic attacks than anything. Take your finasteride and embrace your current stage!
Amen.

Not farther from the truth.

Anxiety is pretty much a guaranteed side effect

A lot of people who got sides suffer from panic attacks and given I already suffer from one tells me it's not a good idea not to mention there is no way to know if I am one of those 2% people and from those who will get permanent side from finasteride.

funny how when I get a hair cut, and feel attractive that the anxiety, panic attacks and feeling of uncertainty all go away.

actually it's not funny, it's disfiguring, and a huge crutch.
