What Usually Happens Upon Discontinuing Minoxidil?

I'm thinking of stopping minoxidil, but staying on Propecia and Nizoral for the time being.

Currently, my regimen is Kirkland minoxidil 1ml 2x a day. 1.25mg Propecia a day. And Nizoral shampoo once every few days.

A couple of years ago, I started minoxidil and Propecia at the same time and saw a small amount of regrowth at first but I haven't noticed any more for quite some time. So what typically happens upon discontinuing only minoxidil? I know everyone is probably different, but is there a general trend? Should I taper off?

If you really, truly want to stop, definitely taper off by using it 1x/day first. I've heard horror stories. One guy who posts on here and uses dutasteride and stopped using minoxidil for a few months and lost a tooooon of coverage.

What I think will happen is this... You'll stop minoxidil, and in the first 1-3 months go through a horrendous shed where your hair gets worse than baseline, then you'll eventually start to stabilize and will reach the point you'd have been at had you never used minoxidil.
