What To Tell Doctor? What Tests Too?

I tried making dermatologist appointment to see where hair loss will lead, but they said at least 6 month wait and said instead go to regular doctor. And if they think I'm balding they will make it easier to get appointment or something.
I know I am balding I am like Norwood 2.5 I bet.

What do i tell the doctor? I'm not used to seeing doctors.

Someone said to take blood tests to check for something, and it will say if finasteride will be effective or not?

Anyone know anything about that?

I just said I'm looking for Finasteride for male pattern baldness.

He took one look at me and prescribed it.

Was a lot easier than I thought.

Yeah, you're basically going to have to go in and ask for finasteride, or you could ask for a referral to a derm for treatment of your male pattern baldness...I don't know if that would help you get an appointment faster or not.

Be prepared to be rejected. A lot of dudes go through quite the hassle trying to get a script for it, one reason why these online pharmacies are so popular.

It took me 2 derm visits. Went to my old derm, he told me he didn't prescribe finasteride because he wouldn't take it himself, but he referred me to a derm at the same office who did prescribe it. Made an appointment with that derm for a couple weeks later, got my finasteride script.

Where are you from ?
I don't think you can get finasteride at Costco here in Canada.. Could be wrong.

And I'm not positive about the blood tests, but I think I've read here you do not to see your DHT levels, then do another one after you've been on finasteride for a while to see if they have lowered.

OP, get your DHT levels tested first. That will be your best guide as to your response to finasteride. If your DHT is low then not only will finasteride not do much for you it might accelerate your hairloss. If your DHT levels are on the high side and you want to take finasteride, start with .5 mg as that is as effective as 1 mg. If DHT is low then start with .25 mg, which is a dosage that a lot of guys are on.

Yes, they sell it at costco PHARMACY.

A legit pharmacy will only sell you a prescription medication if they are presented with a script from a doctor. It's not a situation where you can just roll up and grab finasteride off the shelf
