I've been thinking lately and i thnk there are two ways i can be at peace with my hair..
1.. it grows back
2.. buzz my head. :!:

this will just be a little poll on what your intentinos will be if your hair doesnt stop falling out..
BTW i'm 26, i think this is kinda important b/c people say over 40 can get away with a big bald spot and still sport hair..

I honestly don't know yet. I'd have to wait to see how much worse it gets. hair transplant is such a big decision. Hell, the meds are a big decision.

Thanks for your concern, Jeffsss. I'm trying to take it day-by-day. I live alone, so I don't have many people to talk with. I've been making some bad choices, as well.

By the way, there's no way I will ever post my pics. I stopped taking pics sometime in November, though I know I should continue.

Alot of people would shave their heads huh. I already shave my head. It looks okay. But I think part of the reason why I did it is for the topicals. I think I should grow it out again.

I'm considering doing this too. I want to add Dr. Lee's Spironolactone 5% and I've read it's a pain to apply with alot of hair.

that's all fine.. but how are you ever going to have hair if you have to keep it short for topicals?

A valid point Jeff. I meant keep it shaved down to a #2 or #1 to keep putting topicals on. I don't really mind having very short hair, I just want HAIR, period. Not necesarilly long.

Jeffss,

I check this board infrequently but every time i do i see a similar post from you. Just buzz it already!

I am 28 and have been losing hair for more than 5 years. Nobody has ever commented that they think I am balding (i am a diffuse thinner) because as the years go by, I cut my hair shorter and shorter. If you really want to stop obsessing over your hair, it is absolutely the best move to buzz your hair down to a #2 or #3.

Last year I noticed that my hair was finally starting to get noticeably thinner (at the time i had a short spikey style), so after a few months of literally crying in the mirror, i went to the barber and had it buzzed to a #3. Since then, I cut it myself, once a week, to a #2.

I am on the big 4 (generic dutasteride, 5% minoxidil, sometimes nizoral, and 1/4 proscar daily) and I hate the fact that I still shed TONS of hairs a day...hairs that are getting thinner too. But buzzing my hair has been extremely liberating. I'm sure there will be a day in the near future when buzzing my hair will no longer disguise my thinning. However, by then people will already have gotten used to the shape of my face with a very close cut. I think i'll be able to deal with it.

I will soon brother...

if you saw the size of my head, and the horrible oily complexion i have.. you'd understand why I'm reluctant to.

what is #2, #3, #4 ??????

There is only one way to shave a head, and that is with a RAZOR, like MACH3.

Other than that , you are just cutting it down, or cutting it shorter.

Your head doesn't look that big.

What does oily skin have to do with your hair length? If anything, the longer hair gelled look makes some guys look like greasy SOBs. I've never really understood it, frankly.

I am waiting till the summer and will possibly buzz my hair then. But I'm terrified. I can't tell from my current hair length if a #2 buzz will hide any thinness. I'm afraid you'll see right through to my scalp and I'll look like I'm noticeably balding. And I cannot deal with that.

my head is big man.. with hats i have to use second to the last adjustment.

i like having longer hair b/c it takes away from looking at my oilyl forehead.

thinning hair is the weirdest thing.

the shorter you go the less noticable your hair loss is.

I thought the same thing until i actually did it. Aside from making your hair look thicker, it also takes your mind off of losing hair.

That being said...it doesnt say much for finasteride, dutasteride, nizoral and min that my greatest hair accomplishment has been to buzz it down to a #2.

I would love to meet a doctor who could tell me with any degree of medical certainty that any one of those four products has done an ounce of good. Before anyone hates on me, i am not comparing myself to anyone else. Just venting at the lack of a can't-miss hairloss product.
