Hi all,

I've been using Rogaine Foam (1 once a day) for 7 months now in conjonction with Propecia (I've been on Propecia for 1 year).

First I din't notice an increase in the hair shed but since 3 months I've started to shed like a dog (the hairs shed are small hairs compared to others).

This heavy shedding is still in progress and I am getting worried that Foam did more harm than good.

My question is quite simple, do I need to worry about this and what to do if foam doesn't prove effective after 7 months ?

Cheers,

Maxifoot

Well not a lot of answers ... Probably I didn't state my question correctly.

Do you guys think that I could be something good for me to switch from Foam to Kirkland 5% minoxidil after 7 months and no result from foam ?

I have read that the foam is not as efficient as liquid in absorbing the skin. Maybe should try a stronger liquid solution. I have a lot of hair to "make-up", so I decided after one month on 5% Rogine to just go straight to 15%. More is merrier:D

oh please not the foam vs. liquid argument again.

i prefer foam. it is WAY EASIER and quick to apply.

i would not switch anything until at least 12 months in. i think sheds are good, ride it out. are you using the same amount (exact same) every time? just using more some days can cause sheds.

where are you using it? did you ever shed on propecia?

etc.

anyway, i'd stick with the foam for 12 months at least.

I agree. My hair looked great when I was on a regular schedule for 8 months. A blob in the morning; a blob at night. Then I went overseas for 2 weeks, and even though I brought the foam with me, I didn't use it regularly, and when I did I used twice as much to make up for it. The result? 2 months later my hair looked awful and I shed like a champ. And of course I wrongly assumed the foam had stopped working.

It is strong stuff; be consistent with your applications and dosing.

Hi guys, thanks for answering me.

I use foam only once a day before going to bed.

I apply 1 cap of foam on my crown and 1 cap on my hairline, is it too much taken into account that my hairs are long and therefore it is harder for me to apply it ?

I must admit that sometimes I use more foam then I should "you know just in case, it shouldn't hurt" => stupid thinking ?

do you think guys that a product is not working then you have to change it a similar one? no...wrong...it is the same formula...it looks like hair loss...is different and sometime is nothing you can do...

Are you saying that, it doesn't matter if you use 2%, 5%, 10%, 12,5% or 15% minoxidil, if 2% doesn't work, none of them work?

15% might work if 2% doesn't.

But most of the time I think when 2% doesn't work, 15% won't either. It depends on a lot though.
