What is healthy hair in terms of shedding in the shower?

Whats the difference between a thin hair and a healthy hair when you see them on your hand?

I myself can tell straight away if the hair that has shed is a terminal or a thin hair because i have thick hair {or did have}.
If you had thin hair to begin with i would imagine it would be hard to spot the diffrence?
