What tests prior to Propecia

Are there ANY benefits to this drug, other than the hair, thing.. shrinking the prostate etc..?

It made it easier to control seborrheic dermatitis (along with Nizoral 2%), at least in my case.

Just been looking at some of your other threads, but not many people want to get involved. I'm guessing that if people are taking this and not having any sides then they have no opinion to add to any of this really. It's a great shame that many GP docs out there no absolutely NOTHING about any of the tests you mention and Propecia sides other than 'ball ache' and possible disfunction. And that's it. They should be more clued up about the blood tests and everything else before they start chucking it out there, and most doctors will, because as far as they are aware it's the only drug that stops hairloss... And I'm guessing that's still true. Most surgeons tell you this also, and that Rogaine is not worth the bother.

I tried Saw Palmetto in the past and it gave me ball ache and problems down there, does that mean Propecia will also do the same?

Most likely, yeah - but not necessarily. I don't know how much DHT saw palmetto inhibits, and whether or not it's a dual inhibitor, or 5AR Type 2 inhibitor only - like Propecia.

Well it didn't make any difference to the hair....
I'm desperate here, but worried about taking it. Don't know what else to do. Hair is falling so quickly
