99% Usually sold at beauty supply stores.

Anything else contains a fair amount of water.
More common 91% has 9% water

But keep in mind this is only one using acrylic adhesive or tape.... If you're using alcohol with a white Bond you're messing up the formula.... Acrylic is designed with alchohol in it already... or ethyl acetate which works in a similar fashion as far as flashing off and drying.....White bond doesn't... White bond works by water content evaporating...

Alcohol works good on water based adhesives as well. It's the same when your still shifting the piece to align correctly.

It's actually not advised. I've spoken with Pro Hair Labs regarding this... You're changing the chemistry of the adhesive by adding alcohol to the water based product.... does it allow more time to reposition... yes.. just like a spritz of water would... does it reduce the bond longevity... Yes

Can't complain that I'm losing bond early. Can't believe it actually. Have to ask that myself from them.

I've thought of using water to do that, but doesn't that just make the bond back to what it was before? Water evaporates so slowly and when I've spritzed it all over my scalp I will have to wait quite to long before the system actually sticks.

Anyone actually using water to align?

Absolutely, it would take longer to cure.... but it would not be changing the chemical composition of the adhesive. I don't recommend doing it I was just making a point of not changing the formula of the adhesive.

I noticed a difference in hold time when I've used alcohol on acrylic versus no alcohol...

I used both but I can't tell the difference between 91 and 99% isopropyl alcohol.

Really? That's strange to hear as it's almodt 10% water.... the reason for using 99% is so that evaporates off faster... having next to no water content..

When I finish my last bottle of 99% isopropyl alcohol. I'm just going to stay with 91% alcohol. I only use isopropyl alcohol to clean the skin base surface before doing the attachment. One bottle can last for months.

Yes for cleaning the base I would even see 91% is better. I have noticed my .03 have become more coarse/dry and tear prone when I use 99% to clean it frequently.

I would only say use 99% for repositioning.

After more than a year of experience wearing a hair system and got a ton of practice. I can do the attachment without using a mirror and don't need to use alcohol for repositioning.

Yeah I do use mirrors but I never use anything to extend the drying time...to reposition

Are you using tape perhaps? Maybe it's easier with it?

If your whole area is covered with fresh tacky glue whatever hits it, gets stuck so strong. Is it really possible in that case to remove the system from the head and then just put back exactly in the right place, if you've got so much experience :D?

>Are you using tape perhaps?
I use black tube Got2B on a regular day. If I plan to spend the whole day hiking or doing any water sports.... I definitely would use a stronger adhesive and tape.

>Maybe it's easier with it?
Depending on what kind of tape or adhesive I use. Walker 1522 tape, Ghostbound, and Esha absolute glue are easy to remove and clean up. Walker Ultra Hold and Lace Front tapes are more time consuming to clean up.

If I use fresh strong glues such as Walker Ultra Hold or Lace Front tapes. It can't be removed after the system attaches to my scalp unless I spray isopropyl alcohol on the base before the attachment.
