What now? Give up? =/ (pics).

First of all i'm 20 years old. I've been shedding ALOT since about 10 months now. It gets better, and then gets worse all over again, and goes on.
I got on finasteride, and noticed complete ED, and quickly dropped it. I'm not sure if its because I was playing with my hormones at such an early age, or because i'm one of the unlucky ones. Things are back to normal now thankfully, and i'm running out of solutions.
nizoral makes my scalp burn, finasteride gives me sides, and i'm not up for the wrinkles / bloated face from the minoxidil.
I currently take 1 multivitamin and 1 omega 3 capsule a day.
Generally in good shape, though I have to quit smoking (its my only bad habbit).
Do I have any options or do I just give up?

Note: Yes I have a small hairline , but my hair is definitely thinning and shedding alot.

Any suggestion is much appreciated and thank you..

So you have basically given up on the three most important treatments for genetic hair loss? :/

I would possibly go to a doctor and fine if they are any alternative treatments. They may recommend you with some natural supplements such as Saw Palmetto, Nettle Extract... but I very much doubt will help hair loss alone.

Why don't you try and cover it up with a concealer such as Toppik? That is the best thing you can do IMO... other members may suggest you try spironolactone and S5 Cream which I know nothing about, but a concealer would be best if you are on no treatments now as it will hide the hairloss...

How long did you try finasteride for?

Just because you had ED for a day or two I wouldn't give up on finasteride completely. The fact that you came off of it and went back to normal is a good sign. If you stay on finasteride a little longer the side might completely disappear.

With that non regime you already have given up.

If you don't want to go on finasteride you may as well go for a heavy topical regimen.

spironolactone, RU, eucapil, flutamide, etc...the choice is yours.

With diffuse loss I think it's also extra-important to check that it IS male pattern baldness, and not something else.

Yeah but man ED at the age of 20? I was doing 0.5 mg a day, and i'm not talking harder to get an erection, or anything of that sort. COMPLETE ED, and this stayed with me for a while even after I quit.
I did try riding it out for 3 weeks, but things never changed.
There's GOT to be somethig I can do.. ?

Will look into RU, thanks bro.
And how exactly do I find out for sure?
I've got my thyroids / iron level checked and they came out fine.
What other tests must I get?

Either your case is one in thousands, or you read so much sh*t on propeciahelp.com that you had a psychosomatic reaction. Which is more likely? Hmmm....

As for the wrinkles/bloated face of minoxidil...I insist once more that you're reading too much crap on the internet. If you use the recommended dose you should NOT experience any of that.

And nizoral is supposed to be anti-inflammatory/anti-irritation, so I don't know how it could make your scalp burn.

With such a shitty attitude you're already screwed up, IMO.

The only other one that comes to mind is celiac. There was a guy on here who got tested, had a gluten intolerance, and his hair's now growing back since he's stopped eating wheat.

Unlikely, but perhaps worth a try.

Hair loss Help forums seem to be the place where all the RU facts are these days.

So did I for the first month or so. I rode it out and everything is 100% back to normal now. In actual fact, I think I probably brought the sides on myself by worrying about it.

That's a bit far fetched. Have you even tried it for any length of time?
I've been using the foam for a while now and it's great, I actually enjoy applying it

It seems to me like you're looking too hard for sides

You smoke and you are worried about wrinkles from minoxidil? lol.

Seriously though, you are 20. You do not have to worry about wrinkles for a long time.

Also you should try finasteride for a few months before you give up on it. I had sexual side effects from it that went away after about two months.

To be honest, you hair looks quite good to me. Good hairline.

I would grow it a little on top and just get a good haircut.

Maybe take some proscar just to give it a chance
