Hey everyone,

My hairline receded to this point 6 years ago at the age of 21, then just kind of stayed there. I'm 27 now. I've been on finasteride and minoxidil for 6 years. I have the same pattern as my dad receded to this point then stops. What Norwood do you guys think I'm at right now? I always had a large forehead and always had a widows peak, never straight hairline. Has anyone else hairline just stopped for this long? I don't usually see similar hairlines on this forum, so i would appreciate opinions.

Thanks

you apply minoxidil only to hairline ? the small hair are minoxidil hair?
Ya I apply it to the hairline. I actually started a new minoxidil 10% from inhouse, I can give you the brand name when I get home. I bumped up to 10 last month after being on 5 for years.

I looked at your pictures. It's ironic with the amount of loss that you have that you would call my hairline ugly lol. But I honestly hope you get the desired look from your transplant, looks like good work. I consulted with cole, and 2 other surgeons over the years but never pulled the trigger. Way too worried about looking like a weirdo down the road. You have diffused thinning, good chance of being full George costanza by 30.

Hahaha certainly true, exactly why I opted for a transplant, and hopefully I'll overcome yours in the next 6 months or so :)

If you're maintaining that well on finasteride for that long you're an ideal candidate tbh. Obviously transplants tend to set up future transplants so that's always an issue, but doctors would probably consider you an easy case with high probability of long term success. Also Cole has badly botched a few patients and made no effort to repay them despite treating them like experiments so I'd avoid him like the plague.

I met with Rahal as well. They said I'm a good candidate but at the end of the day my dad had this hairline until 45ish then he started losing his crown. Still a lot of hair for his age but I just don't want to be a slave to the transplant down the road. The way I style my hair no one can tell but if it gets worse I'm eiTher shaving or transplanting

bro for me your hairline look good for a 27 yo!
no need to transplant if you maitain this.
No sides on fina ?
Thanks dude! No sides on finasteride at all. I take 1 mg per day. You should bump up the min to 10% if you don't have sides, I'm seeing minor regrowth in the first month. Never saw any regrowth on 5%.

I don't think that looks ugly or weird at all... sharp temples look pretty good in my opinion, adds a bit of character as long as the rest of the hair is dense. Anyway, probably a NW2 as mentioned but if you have a pic from the front it might be easier to see.

thanks! This hairline kind of sucked at 21 but now at 27 I'm actually in better shape than some friends that started way later lol. I'll post a front view when I get a chance. How's your situation?
