What Is The Recommended Dose For Oral minoxidil?

I've been thinking of switching over from Tropical to Oral minoxidil (Loniten). What is the recommended dose, 5mg or 10mg? Also do you need to take the pill once a day or twice?

I think the general census is don’t exceed 10mg a day. I just started on 2.5mg AM And PM. Will eventually bump it up to 10 mg daily

Is this supposed to be better than topical, and what are sides taking orally?

Oral has more sides than topical, it can cause heart issues and increased body hair. But having to apply topical minoxidil twice a day completely frizzes and makes my hair look greasy and crap, oral administration is much more convenient.

So you prefer to have heart problems instead greasy hairs ? Lol

I would apply it only at night but doubling the dose (2ml). Or apply 1ml at night and a low dose (2,5mg) in the morning

Where did the 2.5 mg dosage come from? Just curious. A quick google search shows people doing well anywhere from 0.25 mg to 1mg. These cases aren't male pattern baldness but you can tell that the hair is extremely damaged and you can see the results from low doses:
