so i went on vacation recently to the middle east, sweated alot there due to humidy, never washed my hair often because i was scared of water, gosh was i stupid as hell .

now im back in the usa and im freaking because im losing hair like crazy and today i looked at my bald spot in the back and its growing and my sides are thinning and you can see my scalp. luckily i have long hair so i can cover it, but if i got it cut i would cry because it would be that bad.

so i dont have insurance, but im going to call the dermatologist on monday and try to get booked in asap , what am i looking at the derm on saying on the first visit? is he going to examine my scalp and tell me the issue?

i think its something i may have been allergic to in the middle east or something, im not quite sure but i want it to get fixed or something.

any tips/help?

well i could advise a tricologist would be better informed but it's also a job to find one that is legit
idk if the us have any bodies that you could turn to in order to find a good one or not

excessive perspiration can be a cause for hair loss and if your hair fell out quickly it is usually a sign of a temporary condition that fixes it's self but it's not always that lucky

my moms friend who is a child dr just informed me to see a tricologist , and i booked an appointment for wednesday, im really excited . she also informed me that if it was something that i lost quickly, it was caused by something and hoepfully they can find out the cause and give me medication. she said if it was gradual hair loss then that'll be different as this was something sudden then its cuased by external factors?

i mean just two months ago i had the best hair in houston , and now its ugh.

My rant has been that DHT hits a certain level in our scalp and if it is the magic number for your genes, then presto, your hair gets hit with a hard knock out punch. One time is all it takes and just like over night, you have lost a bunch in the first round.

Now if you don't load your *** on finasteride or dutasteride ASP ASP ASP you could get hit with another knock out punch in the second round. Did I say ASP?

Now ask yourself (or your hair), how many rounds can I go before I loose the the fight and get dragged out of the ring a bald man. Without finasteride or dutasteride on your fighting with only your left arm.

ALSO MY RANT: It is easier to keep, protect and/or maintain your hair on finasteride than it is to regrow it after a hit from DHT and to many people are losing their hair unnecessarily by not getting on finasteride soon enough. Knowing that, I would say hair education is lacking and hopefully in the future people will have a easy test or something for male pattern baldness they can take so they don't have to get the shock of their lives seeing a bald spot already starting.

Short answer, dude get on finasteride yesterday, understand, don't piss around.

Also, please keep us informed if you were in denial blaming the heat or the water and if you do have male pattern baldness and of your progress here, and if you regrow any in 4 to 12 months, thanks.

well im not in denial for anything, i did join this website? From all the studys/research I did male pattern baldness happens over amount of time am I correct most of the time? I had thick full hair and in a matter of two weeks it started falling off and etc . From the people who ive spoken to they said it has to be a outside factor thats factoring in, and my scalp is extremely dirty from what the child dr looked at it and said that could be a factor as well .

anyways thanks for the reply , im going to see a Trichologist on wednesday , and then go from there , but if she tells me anything serious, i shall get a prescription of finasteride soon and start on it. thanks .

Dirty hair, hair loss you say? The hope I clinged on to for over a year was that I told myself that it was my diet or that it was not my hair in the sink and shower drains.

Denial is not the issue but take me for instance.

Lots of hair can be lost for good fast over a few days, months, or slowly over years, it is different for everyone. For me, at age around 45 is for the first time ever in my life I started losing at the crown but it was not on my radar because I have always had a very thick head of hair and no balding in the family. Then I got hit hard and fast, huge gobs in the shower, thats when I realized I had been in denial. It took a year or more to finally see I was in denial and if I did not do something fast it would be to late.

The good news is that finasteride has been great for me, no more loss.
