What Do You Use To Clean Your System

So thought I share what I use and see what others have tried and found success as its good to share and get more info.

I have a lace system which I remove every 10 days or so to give it a clean. I do not wash my hair system till I take it off. Remove all glue first with cotton and C22. Then wet and shampoo the hair with pro labs. Once done I use the pro labs conditioner and rinse. Once fairly dry, I apply scalp protector from walkers then apply ghost plat glue to apply the system, after which I handle the hairline on its own.

Any other cleaning products people use and recommend? I do find pro labs is expensive so be good to know if anything cheaper as good is out there.

I find that MOST of the glue, when I do full-head bonds sticks to my head, not much on the lace. I also found (just MY personal experience) that the cotton can pull hair through the lace, so I prefer to soak in the C-22, and then wash it off. I use "Fairy Liquid" after that.

Have you considered doing a perimeter bond with tape, and just Ghostbond for the hairline? The tape comes off with some alcohol, with very little residue. I even would put a no-shine contour tape about a cm behind the hairline, so the "glued" part was minimal.

I use any regular shampoo and conditioner, so long as it is sulphate-free and (preferably) paraben-free too. You can buy these from Amazon etc and there are many different types like Argan oil etc. I was my hair once a week.

The same goes for leave-in conditioners, which I use several times a day.

The "hair piece specialist" products sold by hair systems companies are no doubt very good, but they charge extortionate prices and I doubt you get that much more benefit than regular products. This is especially true if you are replacing the hair piece every 4 or 5 or 6 months anyway.

For cleaning the glue off, I just use 99% alcohol that I bought a big vial of, from Amazon. But I have a UTS system so the glue is very easy to remove. I sometimes don't even need to use the alcohol because the glue often just rolls off.

The glue itself is like ghost bond. Don't go cheap on the glue :D , find what works for you, no matter what the price is.

I also find that cotton pulls my hair through the lace too - noticed it more lately. I've had my system 3 months now (the one from a new supplier), started to notice the colour fading so will be getting a new one soon. I will try the soak in C22 next time and see if that works. Just for info, do you guys wash from the lace side or from the hair side? As I always wash the lace side in and clean - not sure if that makes any difference or not to be honest. @BaldBearded I will try the tape method, I have some walkers tape, so will give it a go.

So tried the tape and it just didnt work out for me. So have just done a re attachment with glue and seems best. I forgot to use alcohol on my head so the glue and lace never attached, meaning i had to spend another 30 mins cleaning and redoing arghh. Been exactly 3 months since I had my piece so have ordered a new stock system and will also order a custom piece at same time so that comes by the time the new system is warn out.
