Yeah well I was sat in work today and browsing this forum in my break and kinder just thinking about HM and all that talk. I saw posts dating back to 2004/2005 of 'just wait for HM' and all that kinder stuff and its now 2007 going on 2008 and really we still dont know wether its gonna be a success or not!

I was kinder just thinking where do you guys think we will be in 5 or 10 years from now if we we're to return to this exact thread 5 or 10 years from now!

Do you think there'd be medication for treating male pattern baldness which is far more effect than Propecia? Much better regrowth treatments than Rogaine?

It kinder got me thinking about the Netherlands and their land reclaimation back in history where they would fix problems now but leave the tasks that they werent technologically capable of doing until the future when technology was on the level that would enable them to complete dams and bridges etc etc

I guess the whole point of this post is because being a Norwood 2 now it would seem that in the short term atleast I could correct my hairline and have good hair but then gamble on the likelihood of advances in the future to halt male pattern baldness completely or HM is available and comestically viable, seem like a big gamble indeed and nothing on the horizon gives me much confidence that it would be a gamble worth taking in this present time. What'yall think ? :freaked:

I know propecia is meant to maintain you're hair but somehow I wont hold my breath for it being effective for anything over 10 years...

(Sorry if I'm rambling just thinking out loud I guess  )

No one honestly knows when it will come out. Intercytex is in Phase II and Aderans is in Phase I with their HM procedure. It seems like they're both going towards a global release in 2010.

You got some points though. I kinda have the same thoughts.
The only problem and the only reason for all these conversations is that some of us feel they dont have much time left hair-wise. I am 20, but i think i will be a nw6 by 25. Will hm be out in 5 yrs?

To make my point clear, if i knew FOR SURE that in 8 years from now, there will be a perfect and solid HM procedure, that could grow 40,000-50,000 thousand good hair in your head, then i would go on repeated hair transplant sessions to maintain a good look, and make sure that my donor has 100-200 grafts left just enough for a good HM.

Time will tell, and as everything in life, the best result will come if you take the best decissions. I think i am rambling out loud too:p

I think it's going slower than anticipated and the prediction of 5 years from now 5 years ago was just somewhat of an exhagaration.

Did we know about Intercytex 5 years ago? Aderans? I only heard about Intercytex in 2005.

Even if their test phases end up successful and on time.. it still would take atleast a good 2-3 years from now.

the things that i wonder about is 3 years from now how much more hair will I lose? How much hair have I lost 3 years ago.. stuff like that lol

2-3 years maybe for ICX-TRC to come to the U.S. If it goes well and results are excellent, Intercytex might be able to skip Phase III and go for 1 year getting it approved making a release possibly for 2009 or 2008 in England (Note: I said possibly, not it's going to happen). Aderans is trying to get a release in late 2009/early 2010.

I'm not waiting, I'm flying to Europe.

I don't even know when it will come out, it's just speculation. I just hope sometime before my youth is done, I can get all of my hair back. I started losing in my teens, I'm not going to give up.

I'm 23 turning into a NW4 by the time I'm 25. I just I hope I'll have some hair when I turn 30.

RaginDemon I dont think thats necessarily true though, there is alot of people in my family who started showing signs of male pattern baldness real early but for them it seems really quite slow and most of them are Norwood 3 and below, where I've seen plenty of people I know who had awesome hair all the way through their 20s and then mid 30-s boom... cueballs

its all too difficult to generalise... every situation is different... some hairlosses can be caused from non male pattern baldness reasons... mabye from defficiency from minerals etc...

Yeah, right i am so pleased i have visible thinning in 20 i dont think i could take it if i had to wait for another 13 years to see my first bald spot. Being in your twenties and having all your hair sucks.

Anyway i think he was joking so enough fuss about that.

A lot of members here are in their EARLY 20's...it's the best time of their lives, supposely.
