What Do U Think Caused My Hair Loss?

I started taking ketoconazole 2% for my dandruff problem 2 times a week. I used it for about 6
weeks as instructed by my doctor. During that time my hair become really limp and started shedding a lot of hair during wash. I used to have afro textured hair but now it is really different. After I stopped using it for about a year now, the texture doesn't seem to reverse. The thing is I still notice a lot of shedding while washing and now my hair appears to be thinning. My scalp is really oily and i notice this sticky white stuff on my scalp even right after washing my hair using shampoo. I have to scratch it out to remove it. Maybe i have seborrheic-dermatitis. My hairloss history is: all perfect hair on my father's side and maternal grandpa kept his hair until his 60's. And my mother's 3 brothers went bald around age 40. BTW I am 19. I don't know if seborrheic-dermatitis caused the hair loss or the shampoo or male pattern baldness. But i know for sure the shampoo caused the texture change. I need to know if it is male pattern baldness or something else, because I am thinking about starting finasteride.

well, is it in the male pattern? receding temples, thinning crown etc. nizoral is prety harsh for hair but it shouldn't cause problems this far after stopping. Maybe see a derm to see if its Telogen Effluvium, Seb Derm, or actual male pattern baldness.

If you want to try something for Seb Derm coal tar shampoo is supposed to be good. But I'd see the derm first since you think a shampoo messed u up so bad last time

Thanks for ur reply. I am not sure if I have receding hairline. My friend commented that my hair is thinning. When washing i shed hair all over my scalp. Like 150 hairs every wash. Can seb derm cause that much hair loss.
