Okay, so I'm 22 (almost 23), and I've always had a widows peak, but in the last few years, the hair above the edges of my widows peak has been thinning drastically and even receding. The thinning in those areas is very noticeable now.. as you can see my scalp through the hair.
My hair is thinning everywhere on my head, but much less so than to the north of the sides of my widows peak.. so I'm not very concerned with the other parts of my head.
As far as family history goes, no history of male pattern baldness on my dad's side, but my grandfather on my mom's side was bald by like age 40.
What are my options for treatments? I'm considering Propecia/Proascar, and have a prescription for it, but kind of weary cause I think the last thing I want to do is mess with my hormones.. are there any other less riskier treatments like a gel/lotion application? Or anything else?

I've been banned for it already when I made my last account and posted a topic like this, and spoke to one of the mods about it... there's absolutely no way to retrieve the 2 other usernames despite the fact that I know what email I used for them, so PLEASE do not ban me again for something so trivial.. at least now I'll know now never to forget this one)
