Been on Proscar(finasteride) taken in 1.25mg per day for the past two month or so. I can't get a full erection, 50% at best and that's through physical stimulation. Welp.
Been off of it for a week, no improvement.

I also started with the 1.25mg daily doses...then, struggled with some ED. I lowered my dosage by half, and pushed through the side effects assuming my body just needed time for the meds to work. I was right. While .625mg dosages everyday aren't as effective as a full dose, you're probably still getting 75-80% DHT inhibition, and it might help your sides a little bit. It did for me. I was horrified -- I'm talking the first time I saw The Blair Witch Project when I was a kid horrified -- when I couldn't get the ol' purple-headed yogurt slinger to prepare for battle for the first time. It's a totally normal reaction considering most guys haven't been without several boners per day since elementary school. IT GETS BETTER.

Your body isn't used to the meds being present, so it's going to take a little time for it to relearn itself so things will go back to normal. Ever had the "check engine" light go on in your car? After you or your mechanic swaps out whatever part is causing the light to turn on, you have to drive the car around for a while so the computer can relearn how to operate properly or else the car won't pass inspection. Same rules apply with your ding dong, bro. My sex drive is, for all intents and purposes, back to where it should be after my body adjusted to the meds over the course of a few months. Does it suck to have to wait that long, especially if you're wanting to get laid but dread performance issues? Absolutely, but the reward of staying on the meds and keeping your hair outweighs ditching the meds because you think you're gonna end up in the incredibly unlikely scenario of being one of the Propecia horror stories.
