Haven't posted on here in a long time. Been on finasteride for two years or so. Diffuse thinning but most on the crown, finasteride stopped my shedding in its tracks although I've admittingly been taking it off and on. Lately I've been taking 1.25mg of generic proscar but my temples, which I've never really worried about, have been miniaturizing. Especially my left temple. The thing is I've never had sides on finasteride. So I was wondering what the people with no sides on finasteride that added or went on to dutasteride experiences were? Probably won't get many responses since people that don't get sides typically aren't active on forums. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Well, considering dutasteride, finasteride users w/minimal or no sides your thoughts?

I've currently been taking 0.5 mg of Dutasteride daily for three months and have suffered no side effects whatsoever. I know for a fact that the treatment is working since my hair is feeling so much healthier and shedding is still becoming minimal.
You most likely won't get side effects from Dutasteride if you never experience any taking Finasteride. I hope all goes well if you make the switch!

Ive recently started switching from finasteride to dutasteride......were you on finasteride before? Im worried about shedding.....I have heard some guys experience major sheds when switching!

Switched from finasteride to dutasteride a few weeks ago. Never had sides on finasteride, and so far none on dutasteride (knock on wood). definitely shedding though
When I first got on finasteride some time ago, I got the sides pretty bad. I stopped, then years later tapered back on slowly and it was fine. I think that's really the key, introduce it at a low level and work up allowing your body time to adjust. I would think this would be the best way to go with dutasteride.
Also most likely people that have been on finasteride for a while and switch over will have less side effects than people starting it without any history of finasteride. Could say finasteride is the build up to dutasteride.
