Weird Taste In Mouth Since Fitting. Is This Normal?

Hi guys. I’ve had a lace system for about a week or so. The stylist first used scalp protector spray, then tape on the system followed by glue in some places. The system looks decent but there is a weird bitter taste in my mouth since. I’m thinking it’s related to the glue/tape or protector. I think the products were Walker Tape products so I’m wondering how safe these are... if they are in my blood stream, am I poisoning myself? What is the solution?

We beat this topic to death. You can read here:

There have never been any clinical trials regarding safety and specific long term toxicity or long-term systemic/cancer risks.

Bottom line is yes. Your skin absorbs a great deal of what's applied to it, and it enters the bloodstream.

That being said...I have never had any weird tastes in my mouth from wearing hair.

Holy crap. What have I done ?!
Same as the rest of us. There is certainly a risk and I have outlined many of the dangers, but even I myself am still using the products.

When first applied, yes.
Wow, no kidding? I have never used the acrylic stuff, just silicone, wonder if it's just the acrylic? We should take a poll on here and ask everyone what they have experienced and compare...

Silicone composition is a much larger molecular size. You can poll...but it really would make no difference. People with lung cancer don't always cough and people with no lung disease cough. It doesn't prove anything. it's a scientific fact that it enters your bloodstream through your skin, and that's where the risk lies.... Not in which symptoms you have.

Wondering if you still had this taste or it was a temporary thing?

Hi. Due to the lockdown, I had to improvise at home. I’m using walker tape with ghost bond now...the bitter taste in the mouth is back. It’s quite likely that the nasty taste could also be the scalp protector.

Do you live alone? If so, take the system off, and wait until this is over.
