It could be a dietary issue. I read somewhere that a person's hair is a good indicator of their diet. Irregardless of hair loss, if someone ate nothing but fast food and junk food and didn't drink enough water their hair would look weak, damaged and brittle. If they ate nothing but fruits and vegetables and followed the 7 a day chart and drank plenty of water their hair would look strong, smooth and shiny. I also think it's important to distribute the hair's natural oils that gather at the lower back of the head where the hair is thickest. Those natural oils are better than any conditioner.
In case of hair loss due to male pattern baldness, the above you just mentioned is complete and utter BS. Dry, brittle, damaged hair is most likely due to the fact that the quality of hair is simply decreasing because of DHT.
Well actually not everyone who is suffering from male pattern baldness has dry, brittle, damaged hair.
True, but if your hair becomes dry, brittle after male pattern baldness kicked in, you can be certain for 99% that this change of texture is due to male pattern baldness and nothing else. That was the point I was trying to make in my previous post.
Yes the change may be due to male pattern baldness but it does not mean that there is no chance that the quality of the hair could be improved by following the suggestions I proffered.
If male pattern baldness is the cause, and that is very likely, then fruit and vegetables aren't going to do anything that would be beneficial to anyone's hair. What type of fruit or vegetable can decrease DHT levels enough to stabilize hair loss?
The answer is: none of them, otherwise no one would have to take finasterde. But if they want to follow your suggestions to rule out the very small possibility of the change in hair texture being caused by anything other than male pattern baldness, then they should do that. No harm in eating fruit or vegetables.
I never claimed that eating fruit or vegetables would stabilize hair loss. I claimed that it would likely improve the quality of the hair. male pattern baldness may be causing the hair to look brittle and weak but you can still improve the quality of it without tackling the DHT. Of course you should tackle the DHT but there are other things you can do to make the hair look better, such as eating right, distributing the hair's natural oils and not washing it so often.
If the quality was decreased because of DHT, I can't see how fruit or vegetables are going to do anything.

How DHT can make make brittle/dry hair?

I do suffer from having that brittle, stringy, wiry hair. It's because of my male pattern baldness, makes my hair pretty lifeless really. The quality of my hair has improved somewhat from using treatments.
It's definitely mob that does this to your hair i used to have shiny healthy lookimg hair as a kid but now i have male pattern baldness its so whispy and frizzy and dead looking iv bein on just minoxidil for nearly 4 years but that hasnt ever made my hair look more healthy but before i used minoxidil it would never grow out hardly so i think minoxidil helps the hair grow just still looks like crap in texture wise
