Washing hair...

I wash my hair everyday , with shampoo and conditioner. Now I know that isn't a good thing , but it is essential for me to keep some volume in my hair and not let it get too greasy. When I wake in the morning my hair is terrible and all over the place , my only option in making it look normal is to "fluff" it up with shampoos etc...

Anyways , what should I do when it comes to washing hair from the point of a hair loss sufferer , maybe just wash the hair with cold water?

wash it everyday with nizoral and you will actually be helping yourself (in regards to hairloss)

The whole frequent hair washing / hair loss thing is supposed to be a myth. You can do what mj9 said and use nizoral every day. However, a lot of people hate how it dries your scalp out. A guy in here mentioned that peppermint oil can block androgen receptors, and since then I have been adding peppermint oil to my shampoo. Whether it will help or not, it still feels great on your head and the oil makes your hair shine better.

My faves are "NOW" brand peppermint oil, and "Millcreek" organic jojoba shampoo.

*Note: Be very careful how you mix it, only 1-2 drops per serving you will use. Peppermint oil is very strong, and there are even warnings on the bottle for it. Use too much and it will feel like you put your head in a freezer!

Why is washing your hair every day bad for it?

It washes out the natural oils which give your hair its shine and texture.. , mine has become extremely dull and brittle. Certain shampoos are rough and dry your scalp and hair out , which can't be helpful for someone suffering alopecia.

I was thinking of trying some oils , but then again I dont want to have my hair oily either! I will stick with nizoral for a while and see where I can go from there..

I have always been wondering about the answer to this question. I wash my hair twice a day, once in the morning when i wake up because my hair is all over the place and once at night because after a long days work, my head smells bad. I was always wondering if it is bad to wash your hair that much, will you lose more hair because of it?

What about people who swim everyday or do water sports they must wash their hair more than the average population right? and alot of swimmers aren't bald.

I've also tried just rinsing with water in the morning but the scalp just feels itchy and icky during the day, you just don't get that fresh feeling.

Do any other people wash frequently as well? And about the going grunge, does that really work? doesn't your pillow smell like sh*t if you never wash your hair at all? and wouldn't there be a huge buildup of dht and sebum which is actually not good for your hair and scalp?

I've always heard that you should'nt use nizoral more than 2/3 x per week as its harsh stuff.

I wash my hair 2x a day.
In the morning to wash away the Reviviogen crap from my scalp and in the evening to wash away even minoxidil.
I use some mild shampoo, and Oranozol 2-3x a week...

Is that too much?
