Sometimes my head is itchy and burning like today, the place where i have thinning on my left side was quite sore feeling but there was mild itching all over.

I went and washed my hair in the sink and used head and shoulders shampoo.

This all but stopped the itching and burning for the rest of the day.

Some people claim the itch is dht attacking the hair follicle. But surely a simple wash would not stop this?

Others suggest it is dht on the surface of the scalp which it then washed away.

I do have dandruff and always tended to have since i was a kid.

I have noticed itching gets worse wearing a hat or in hot weather.

Whats going on? Is it related to my hairloss? Why would washing help?

Thanks

Well, the available scientific information about this suggests that hairloss comes with different scalp conditions like fungal infections malaysia, dandruff, itching, sore scalp, overproduction of sebum by the glands and a couple of more things that i can't remember... Most people experience it but from what i have saw it's accentuated with the progressiveness and aggressiveness of the balding process but this is only my opinion of course from the anecdotal experiences shared by others...

That's where Keto plays a role, or zync shampoos like head and shoulders but people already are used to wash their hair every single day and it only accentuates the overproduction of sebum, sore and dry scalp that only makes the glands makes more sebum. There are a lot of other factors that could accentuate the state, like washing your hair with hot water, drying your hair harshly and at big temperatures, maybe to much limestone in the water from the cities, maybe even diet and what you eat, but most of these are just assumptions or unknown and people make a lot, a lot of assumptions based on their personal experiences and after spread them on the internet, others feel or think the same and do the same also and that's where you have an endless cycle of assumptions and misinformation...

So to update i never really used shampoo to wash my hair just water. Sometimes i would have an itch or burning feeling.

I decided to wash with head and shoulders every second day which gave several hours of no itching. However after 1 to 2 days may scalp started getting really sore and with a burning feeling.

After a few times using shampoo i have stopped and scalp is now back to how it was before with occasional itching.
