Hello everyone,
I am a 21 year old male who has been foolishly using minoxidil twice daily as my primary defence against my hairline thinning for the past two years. Over this period, my hair peaked at maybe one year and i believe I'm now behind what i was baseline. My hair loss has been primarily thinning and recession across the middle of my hairline and not in my temples.
As a result of minoxidil not being able to maintain my hairline, i now want to begin using a DHT blocker. Online i have found RU58841, which (allegedly) can be used as an alternative to finasteride to prevent miniaturisation. I have a couple questions from this.
Firstly, would anyone advise against me using RU58841 over finasteride? If so/ if not, could you please share you're reasoning and possibly your experiences with this product in comparison with finasteride?
Secondly, do you think it is possible to discontinue my use of minoxidil at this point, without loosing significant gains? I have seen online that minoxidil (in the long term) can be more problematic against balding than good (especially once it looses it's effect). If i could discontinue minoxidil and only use RU58841 to maintain my hairline, that would be ideal. If this is achievable, could anyone please provide a regimen to make this happen?
Any advise is helpful and appreciated
Thanks all
Sam
