Hello,

I've been diffusely thinning and receeding since 17. Dermatologist prescribed me minoxidil when I was 17 and I used it since this day, I turned 20 this year. I saw some results in terms of thickening a little, but my hair loss seems to be aggressive because Ive been on dutasteride 0.5mg for 4.5 months started to take it 1mg since 3 days but in course of this time I saw no results whatsoever. I believe there is an overproduction of test in my body cause I'm quite hairy considering my age and I want to give spironolactone a shot. I believe I will tolerate it perfectly.

My aim is to use it for 4-5 months until I see regrowth on my hair (If I will) to become Norwood 1.5-2ish (Norwood 2.5 now) then drop it after I see regrowth, does anyone know if I use it this way will I lose the hair I regrown with spironolactone even though I will keep my minoxidil and dutasteride regime ?

edit- forgot to mention I use nizoral 3 times a week

spironolactone is a feminizing drug, better be bald rather than a femmele. and if you drop after have good results you will lose all the gains.
keep with duta and minoxidil. you will have the best results after 1/2 years. be patient. hair transplant is your other option if duta doesnt work but wait 1 or 2 years until make conclusions

If your plan is to stop spironolactone and return to identifying as a 100% male then you're really just doing more harm than good, in the end the choice is yours but this is definitely a horrible decision. Especially considering you haven't even seen theneffect that 1mg dutasteride daily offers. Don't do it brah, be a man.

Yeah. The side effects aren't too bad, if you are only on 100mg I doubt you'll notice any gyno. I also didn't notice any impotence at all. Though I did notice it leaving me depressed a lot of the time, but if your hair makes you even more depressed then I suppose it is worth taking. It also makes your skin less greasy and get rid of acne/blemishes completely. You will have to go to the toilet more (to urinate). A good place to buy it is from a website called QHI.
Good luck on regrowth!

I dont get the concept though if I stop I will lose the regrown hair because of spironolactone, will those hairs become dependent on just spironolactone ? Wont dutasteride's effect of lowering nearly 90 percent dht with 1mg in body be enough to keep those regrown hairs from falling again ?

Nope. If so dutasteride would be a preventative cure that we could give to young men at the first sign of balding.

My experience with hair loss is that it is a shape shifting demon. You can combat it with the available strategies, but it is a lifelong battle and you can never turn your back on it. Baldness is probably related to black holes or some sh*t, it's always there waiting to swallow us all lol.

If you discontinue spironolactone you will lose spironolactone gains and mantein duta gains.
The same happens with minoxidil. You can use it along with duta or finas for 1 year and made some good gains but if you quit it and keep on duta you will lose minoxidil gains.

Yeah the truth sucks man it really limits you to wait and see how you will result on 1 without dropping it. Im still early on avo (4.5 months) just want to improve hairline it reduced my body hair significantly so I'm assuming im good responder to it, Ill wait for it

also forgot to mention I dropped minoxidil 2 months ago due to dandruff, itchy but started again because since I started duta it halted my dandruff and oily skin after month 3, there is still some oil at the end of the day but definitely not near the same before I started duta. When I used nizoral alone last year it wasnt as effective as I use it now alongside with duta. I guess dht and oily scalp helps dandruff grow?

thanks for the replies bros good luck with your regimes too.

If you drop minoxidil 2 month ago and you dont notice any hair loss duta is really working a lot. Because when drop minoxidil after a long time there is a quit good lost of ground and thickness.
My advice is stick with minoxidil 5% twice a day, duta 0,5 daily and keto eod, keto helps a lot with drandruff and also is a mild anti androgenic.
Thx and good luck !!
