here are my old threads which have pictures:

---

And update is, I have looked for myself at the hairs comparing the ones in the front from my back hairs. Ones in front are noticeably thinner and lighter, very small "buds" at the end compared to back hairs. I feel that if I put all my long hair in front of my face, I can see through twice as much as I could when I was 22. (I am now 23.5 years old).

When I run my hand through the back of my head, no hairs come out. When I run my hand through the front of my head or sides, short hairs (as opposed to the rest of my hair being very long) come out, and they are all light, thin, and almost no bud.

I have already seen progression of hair loss. So I am accepting that I am losing my hair now.

---

I wanted to know which drugs to take. I am afraid of side effects and expenses. I just want to be able to keep what I have, I don't need to regrow things if that helps anything... please before it is too late. As I said in other threads, my hair is my identity and like the Merovingian, if my long hair leaves me, I am nothing!

It has made me so depressed and anxious, I even think about there being no point in the future anymore.

---

Thanks to everyone who might reply, I would like any input at all. Only one person has replied to any of my threads. I can take more pictures in any way if requested

Propecia. I'm not gonna try to convince you to take anything you don't want to, but I'll tell you how I weighed my options.

Don't take propecia = 100% feeling depressed, low confidence, low self esteem.

Taking propecia = a realistic 5% of side effects which will be reversed when stopping medication.

For what it's worth, I'm 4+ months on finasteride 4-5x a week and my side effects are almost non-existent. still smash when I get the chance, still get morning wood. I might be a little less hotny throughout my day but It leaves me more time to focus on my work.

If you're trying to maintain try 1mg 3x a week and go on with your life. Good luck on whatever your do man!

What have been the benefits of you taking it so far?

Guaranteed maintenance, minor regrow th but I'm apparently still early for that. My skin has never been so clear in my life... Those are the benefits for me 4 months in.

For what it's worth when I was 25 pounds fatter I suffered sexual sides.. This was a year ago when I tried finasteride. I quit and within 2 weeks was completely back to normal

This time around my experience has been amazing!

But what is finasteride vs propecia? why take one or the other?

And may I ask, if you had side effects and stopped, why did you start again later?

and another question, how much is this costing you a month?

finasteride is the drug we take to block DHT, propecia is just branded to people with male pattern baldness.

Same way rogaine = minoxidil

Tbh I knew my sides were related to estrogen and I had a lot of extra weight on me. So I lost some weight and planned to get back on a smaller dose. Now I'm taking double of what I used to and have yet to feel any significant side.

70$ a month for branded propecia, which lasts me about 7 weeks so say 35$/month, and about 11$ a month for minoxidil

thanks for all replies!

what makes you say this about estrogen? (I do not know what this is). I am 145 pounds, age 23. do you think i might have same problem? or should i lose weight too?

One final question, where does one get propecia/finasteride?
